The wall came down at 350 W Belden — closed kitchen to open living
A partial wall had walled the kitchen off from the living area. Removing it opened the whole first floor — then new cabinetry, quartz, and all-new appliances finished the job in five weeks flat.

The brief was clean and minimalist: white cabinets, light wood, simple fixtures — and one big move. Removing the counter-height wall connected the kitchen to the living area, and the rebuild around it — cabinets, quartz, refinished floors, new lighting — took five weeks from design to completion.
One partial wall was the whole problem
A counter-height partial wall with a stone top separated the kitchen from the living space. We removed it (preserving the ceiling connection above), and the room opened immediately — sight lines, light, and the social flow the client wanted. Demolition also cleared the old cherry cabinets, counters, backsplash and track lighting for a clean slate. This is the work behind our Lincoln Park kitchen remodeling service.

A peninsula built for the new room
Where the wall stood, a white quartz peninsula on a deep-blue base now seats the room — the same clean, minimalist brief the client asked for: white shaker IKEA cabinetry with black hardware, MSI white quartz, and a herringbone backsplash. The existing hardwood was sanded and refinished with new stain through the kitchen, hallway and living room, tying the opened space together.
