Project Overview
This Lakeview kitchen renovation showcases how intelligent design can transform even the smallest spaces into highly functional culinary environments. When our client approached us with their compact kitchen ready for a significant upgrade, we knew that every inch would need to count.
Given the limited square footage, our designer took a functionality-first approach, focusing on enhancing practical use rather than just aesthetic appeal. This strategic decision guided every aspect of the renovation, from cabinet selection to layout optimization.
The key to maximizing this small kitchen's potential was incorporating higher cabinetry that extends closer to the ceiling. This vertical approach dramatically increases storage capacity without consuming precious floor space, a critical consideration in compact urban kitchens.
We designed this kitchen using IKEA products, proving once again that smart solutions don't require custom millwork or excessive budgets. IKEA's modular systems allowed us to create a customized solution perfectly tailored to this space's unique dimensions and our client's specific needs.
The layout was completely reimagined to optimize workflow and functionality. Following demolition, we performed essential drywall work to prepare the walls for the new cabinet installation. This preparation phase was crucial for ensuring the higher cabinets could be securely mounted and properly aligned.
