IKEA Kitchen Remodel Cost

Start Level

​Start level is, or in another name (repair and replacement), an essential replacement of your existing kitchen cabinets with new IKEA kitchen cabinets, a new countertop, a new sink, and new light fixtures. This job will require the demolition of the existing kitchen cabinets and the installation of new ones. Trimed and installed the new quartz countertop and swept the ceiling light with something new; based on our experience, we estimated the cost for labor anywhere between $10,000 - $20,000 for labor alone.

​​Mid Level
​

Mid-level is more advanced in many factors, with the remodeling of electrical, plumbing, and drywall involved, which will increase your cost. The cost of electrical or plumbing depends on the condition of your home. If it dates, we will need to bring it up to code and that will increase the estimated cost; drywall cost also depends on how many sheets, prime, patches, and paint; based on our experience, the estimated cost for this level can cost you anywhere from $20,000 - $30,000 for labor alone, the cost of materials such as cabinets and quartz stone can vary and depending on measurements and materials selections.

​High Level
​

Ok, so the highest level is more complex, which will require the demolition of existing cabinets, removing floor tiles and underlayment, removing soffits and walls, opening of existing walls for rough plumbing and electrical, starting with framing, closing it with new drywall for walls and ceiling if necessary, preparing new underlayment for new flooring, installing new floor tiles and kitchen installation, finishing up with new quartz and backsplash, light fixture for ceiling. This is a complete kitchen reno, which will take longer to complete. With this type of remodeling, inspections by the city are often required to make sure that we are keeping it up to code; with this level, the estimated cost is anywhere between $35,000 - $55,000 for labor alone, the cost of materials such as cabinets and quartz stone can vary and depending on measurements and materials selections.

​When hiring a contractor for your kitchen remodel, due diligence is critical. Ensure the company is in good standing with the state and fully insured. Most importantly, make sure you ask for references and take the time to contact their clients to inquire about their experiences. You want to be confident that you're hiring someone with a proven track record in this work, particularly with IKEA cabinet installation. IKEA cabinets arrive in flat boxes and require assembly, trimming, and modification- tasks that demand time and experience. We've seen instances where clients hired someone without the necessary knowledge, resulting in damaged cabinets. That's why the pre-hiring screening process is so crucial.
